Sharjah has cleared all 6,700 citizen housing support applications submitted up to September 21, alongside new funding to complete stalled homes and another 500 priority housing cases.

Sharjah has taken a significant step towards clearing its citizen housing pipeline, approving every housing support request submitted to the emirate's housing authority up to September 21, 2026.
His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, approved 6,700 applications submitted to the Sharjah Department of Housing, covering both housing loans and grants.
The decision goes beyond approving new applications. It also addresses homes where construction had already begun but later stalled.
The Sharjah Government has funded the completion of 734 stalled homes at a cost of AED603.7 million, helping citizens whose individual housing projects had been unable to progress.
A further 500 homes, representing the first batch of priority housing cases, have been approved at a cost of AED400 million.
Additional assistance of AED101.6 million will support another 127 homes where citizens had independently begun construction and reached advanced stages but were unable to complete their properties.
Together, the measures show how Sharjah's housing policy is addressing different stages of the homeownership journey rather than focusing solely on new housing allocations.
For some households, support begins with access to a loan or grant. For others, the immediate priority is completing a home in which significant investment has already been made.
The approvals arrive alongside significant activity in Sharjah's broader residential market.
Private development is expanding, waterfront projects are attracting domestic and international buyers, and infrastructure investment is strengthening connections across the emirate and towards Dubai.
Citizen housing consequently forms another important part of that growth story.
By clearing the applications received up to September 21 while simultaneously resolving stalled construction and priority cases, Sharjah is directing support towards both future homeowners and families already part-way through building their homes.
For the emirate's residential landscape, the result is not simply another round of approvals. It represents thousands of households moving one step closer to completed homes.
