Khansaheb Interiors has been awarded a contract to carry out a full refurbishment of 105 guestrooms, 10 suites, reception, restaurants, bar/lounges, Meeting rooms, various public areas, and Courtyard of Bab Al Shams Desert Resort and Spa, Dubai.

The scope also includes the replacement of furniture, fittings, and equipment (FFE) and a project-wide MEP upgrade package. Project works have already begun and are expected to be completed by early 2023.

Khansaheb originally built the resort in 2004, extended it in 2006, and is continuing its association with the 5-star Arabian-style retreat property with this refurbishment project. Owned by Meydan, the management of the resort falls under Kerzner International, the developer and operator of Atlantis Resorts and Residences and ultra-luxury One & Only Resorts worldwide.

The resort is temporarily closed for renovation, reopening as part of Kerzner’s ‘Rare Finds’ portfolio. The project has been won on the basis of Khansaheb’s Self-delivery model, with the contracting giant delivering Interiors, Joinery, MEP, Metals and Infrastructure works and services in collaboration with Mirage and the design team (LW and NV5).

“We are delighted to once again have the opportunity to demonstrate the value we provide through using our in-house integrated approach where we use the capabilities and expertise of a number of our specialist teams to a seamless, high-quality delivery for a client with demanding timescales and expectations,” says Steve Flint, Managing Director at Khansaheb Civil Engineering.

Khansaheb has successfully delivered several hotel re-fit projects in Dubai most recently Jumeriah Beach Hotel, and Movenpick Bur Dubai. Khansaheb’s interiors team is also working on other significant projects including One Za’abeel for Ithra Dubai.

Ross Trivett, General Manager, Khansaheb Interiors said, “We are very proud of the Bab Al Shams development,  and we are delighted to have been chosen to return to this unique resort. We have vast experience of carrying out this type of large-scale, fast-track refurbishment project and our continued success is a testament to the value our integrated approach brings to such projects.
