Gargash Prime and JINGDONG Property, the infrastructure investment and asset management arm of JD.com, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a joint venture for a major logistics development in Dubai.
The proposed facility will occupy approximately 2.5 million square feet of land, creating a new regional distribution and fulfilment hub intended to support supply chain operations across the UAE and wider Middle East.
Announced on October 15, 2026, the agreement represents a step towards expanding large-scale logistics infrastructure in Dubai through international collaboration.
Under the proposed joint venture, the companies intend to develop a logistics facility designed to serve local and international businesses.
The development is expected to support distribution, fulfilment and related supply chain activities, drawing on JINGDONG Property’s experience in logistics infrastructure and Gargash Prime’s local real estate expertise.
The agreement was signed during the Dubai Business Forum – China, organised by Dubai Chambers in Shenzhen.
Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, attended the signing, reflecting the importance of commercial cooperation between UAE and Chinese businesses.
Gargash Prime has identified logistics infrastructure as an important component of its real estate investment strategy.
The partnership with JINGDONG Property is intended to support the development of large-scale assets serving businesses involved in regional and international trade.
Shehab Gargash, Founder of Gargash Prime, highlighted the joint venture’s potential to contribute to the UAE’s development as a global logistics and trade centre.
Walid Hizaoui, Chief Strategy Officer of Gargash Prime, also emphasised the importance of developing high-quality infrastructure that supports the country’s expanding trade and logistics sector.
For JINGDONG Property, the collaboration provides an opportunity to strengthen its presence in the UAE and extend its regional capabilities.
JINGDONG Property manages more than 300 infrastructure assets globally, covering over 28 million square metres of gross floor area.
The company reports more than US$16 billion in assets under management, with experience across logistics parks, business parks and data centres.
Its portfolio serves industries including e-commerce, manufacturing, retail and third-party logistics.
The planned Dubai facility will draw on these capabilities to support businesses requiring modern distribution and fulfilment infrastructure.
Feng Guo, CEO of JD.com Middle East, highlighted the UAE’s strategic connectivity and business environment as important factors supporting the partnership.
The proposed development aligns with Dubai’s wider ambition to strengthen its position as an international trade and logistics destination.
It also supports the economic diversification priorities outlined under the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
For Gargash Prime, the partnership marks another step in expanding its real estate and logistics portfolio through cooperation with international infrastructure specialists.
For JINGDONG Property, the agreement creates a framework for establishing a larger operational presence in the region.
As the companies advance their joint venture plans, the development could contribute additional logistics capacity to Dubai’s commercial property sector.
