DocuSign has integrated with the world’s most popular messaging platform, WhatsApp, which will enable smoother, faster real estate deals. The launch of WhatsApp Delivery will allow users to seamlessly receive, send, read and sign digital contracts in real time.
More than 12 million Australians use WhatsApp, including many real estate agents who use the platform to keep their clients fully updated on both the buying and selling side of a transaction. The DocuSign eSignature integration of WhatsApp will allow customers to seamlessly reach signers through their preferred communication platforms and send users real-time notifications that link directly to agreements and enable quick, secure signing.
Shaun McLagan, Group Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific and Japan at DocuSign, emphasised the crucial role of WhatsApp eSignature delivery in DocuSign’s mission to simplify the agreement process. “DocuSign is dedicated to enabling our users to reach signers wherever and whenever they are, aligning with their evolving preferences,” he said. “In an era where customer choices are constantly changing, DocuSign stands out as the sole provider offering a range of e-signature delivery options, including SMS, email, and messaging platforms such as WhatsApp. This is yet another demonstration of our unwavering commitment to delivering a seamless, end-to-end agreement experience that caters to each individual’s needs.”
Melbourne agent Sam Gamon, the director at Chisholm & Gammon, said the integration was a positive step. “Anything that makes life more efficient is good. We use WhatsApp to communicate with our vendors, especially when they are not on iMessage. It would definitely be handy in some situations,” he said. The key benefits of WhatsApp Delivery include delivering real-time notifications to the signer’s mobile devices with a direct link to complete a document, while agreements sent via WhatsApp are processed almost seven times faster than those delivered by email.
Of all DocuSign eSignature agreements delivered via WhatsApp, more than 50% are completed in 15 minutes or less. The addition of WhatsApp broadens the spectrum, ensuring that more than its two billion users can connect with nearly any signer using the mobile messaging platform. It also means more choice and flexibility for users while embedding alerts natively into the messaging application makes the signing process more convenient.
DocuSign also promises to protect highly confidential information by encrypting and making every document tamper-evident and WhatsApp’s leading privacy features provide additional reliability, ensuring notifications are delivered securely. This integration builds on DocuSign’s multi-channel delivery strategy following the introduction of SMS Delivery earlier this year.
