Dubai-based Azizi Developments has completed the acquisition of AED2.1 billion worth of construction machinery, industrial equipment and operational assets, strengthening its ability to manage building projects through in-house resources.

The investment covers thousands of assets distributed across the developer's operating companies and manufacturing facilities. The acquisition forms part of Azizi's strategy to reduce reliance on external equipment providers and improve control over construction schedules.

Equipment Acquisition Expands Construction Capacity

The newly acquired fleet includes 113 tower cranes, 13 luffing jib cranes, 77 passenger hoists and 229 suspension cradles.

Azizi has also purchased 70 heavy transport prime movers and more than 500 passenger buses to support construction logistics and workforce transportation.

The equipment is managed by the company's Asset, Plant & Stores Department and distributed across its operating entities, including Gardenia Contracting, Freesia Electromechanical Works Contracting and Royal Infra Contracting.

Azizi's manufacturing factories are also included in the wider asset acquisition programme.

Reduced Dependence on Equipment Rentals

According to the developer, the shift towards owning construction equipment has already reduced external trailer rentals by more than 80% through improved internal asset allocation.

The company expects its expanded fleet to provide greater flexibility in scheduling construction activities and reduce delays associated with equipment availability.

Farhad Azizi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Azizi Group, said the investment strengthens the company's control over construction quality, execution and delivery commitments.

The acquisition is part of a wider strategy covering piling operations, precast concrete production, fit-out works, joinery and aluminium manufacturing.

Supporting an Expanding Development Pipeline

Azizi said the newly acquired machinery has already been deployed across its residential and mixed-use construction projects.

The developer reports having delivered more than 45,000 homes and currently has approximately 150,000 units under construction.

Its development portfolio includes Burj Azizi, Azizi Riviera and Azizi Venice in Dubai, alongside Azizi Florence in Sharjah.

The company operates across several established and emerging property destinations, including Dubai South, Al Furjan, Palm Jumeirah and Mohammed Bin Rashid City.

Greater Control Over Project Delivery

The AED2.1 billion acquisition represents a substantial investment in construction resources rather than a new property development.

By owning more of the equipment required for construction, Azizi aims to coordinate project execution internally and reduce dependence on third-party rental arrangements.

The approach supports the developer's vertically integrated operating model, which brings together procurement, manufacturing, construction management and project delivery.

As Azizi continues work across its development portfolio, the expanded machinery fleet is expected to play a central role in managing construction activity and supporting scheduled project delivery.
