The Arada Foundation has announced a significant expansion of its Home for a Home initiative, transforming what began as a Ramadan campaign in 2022 into a year-round, worldwide commitment, in partnership with The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF).
Under the expanded programme, every home sold by Arada across its projects in the UAE, UK, and Australia will now directly fund the construction or renovation of a home for a vulnerable family. The initiative targets a minimum of 4,000 homes annually, with the actual figure expected to rise in line with Arada's global sales volumes.
The evolution of Home for a Home reflects how significantly the initiative has grown since its launch. Since 2022, it has funded the construction of over 2,100 homes for refugees and displaced people in Kenya, Chad, and Syria, alongside partners including UNHCR. It has now been restructured as a permanent feature of Arada's business model rather than a seasonal campaign.
For the 2026 cycle, the initiative will operate across three countries. In Chad, 3,550 sustainable refugee shelters will be built in partnership with UNHCR, serving communities of refugees who have fled conflict in neighbouring Sudan. In Indonesia's Yogyakarta Province, 300 homes will be constructed in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, 50 of which will be accessible for people with disabilities, with additional funding directed toward community training and water infrastructure. In Lebanon, the Norwegian Refugee Council will oversee the renovation of 150 homes in the village of Ghazze in the Bekaa Valley, which is currently hosting both Lebanese and Syrian families, as well as hundreds of people displaced by renewed hostilities in South Lebanon.
HH Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Humanitarian Envoy of TBHF and Chairman of Arada, said the programme reflects a shared vision of social responsibility that extends beyond business. Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, added, "Whether you're buying in London, Sharjah, Dubai or Sydney, the story is the same — when you buy a home for your family, you're also buying a home for a family in need."
To date, Home for a Home has positively impacted over 76,000 individuals across communities affected by poverty, displacement, and humanitarian crises. The initiative has been recognised with a Platinum Award at the Global ESG Awards and was honoured at the 2023 Arabia CSR Awards.
