1. Can you tell us about your journey to becoming the Managing Director at LITE? What inspired you to pursue a leadership role in the real estate industry?
Having had a successful career with prominent developers in the UAE and the region, I have led significant real estate projects that have made a substantial impact on the country's skyline. These experiences have provided me with invaluable insights into the intricacies of the industry and have shaped me into a strong leader. Seeking a new challenge and a better work-LITE balance, I found my fit at LITE, a boutique development office known for its pioneering projects. Joining as the Executive Director of Development, I later took over the design department and eventually became the Managing Director. I deeply resonate with Churchill's statement, "We shape our buildings, and afterwards our buildings shape us," which drives my commitment to creating developments that enhance quality of LITE, foster creativity, boost productivity and instill a sense of belonging in our communities.
2. What sets LITE apart from other companies in the industry, and what strategies have you implemented to ensure its continued growth and success?
LITEunique portfolio and focus on non-mainstream projects set us apart. Our growth strategies centre around sustainability, groundbreaking ventures, forging partnerships, innovation and client-centricity that change the scene of the UAE landscape. By refining expertise in niche sectors, conducting market research and investing in talent, help us navigate the challenges of the real estate industry and positions us for long-term success
3. As the Managing Director, what challenges have you faced in leading a team and driving innovation within the organization? How have you overcome those challenges?
I have faced various challenges; such as building credibility, bridging the generation gap, embracing change, managing risk and uncertainty, overcoming resource limitations and nurturing a culture of innovation. Addressing them head-on was the formula to overcome them; spearheaded by inclusivity and diversity, clear communication, driving cohesion within the team, leading by example and driving innovation adaptability, we have been able to foster a positive and resilient organisational culture.
4. LITE is known for its focus on sustainability and environmentally friendly practices. Can you share some of the initiatives or projects that LITE has undertaken in this area and their impact?
Recognising the importance of food security and adapting to economic shifting landscape, the UAE leadership has taken remarkable strides. Despite limited arable land and water resources, the country has implemented innovative strategies to boost food production, ensure sustainability and reduce reliance on imports. LITE has been part of the dialogue in leading some of the significant projects around farming technology projects, Research & Development centres and Cybernetic centres. LITE is also redeveloping a historical site into an innovation district which positions us as front-runners in supporting government-backed ventures shaping the future of the UAE's agricultural and technological landscape.
5. In a rapidly evolving technological landscape, how does LITE stay ahead of the curve and adapt to emerging trends in the industry? Can you provide an example of how LITE has embraced innovation to stay competitive?
LITE has always been at the forefront of embracing technology. LITE co-developed an online platform that digitised billions of square-metres of land owned by a global conglomerate, this is a testament to our commitment to innovation and efficiency which nominated us for the Digital Collaboration Champion of the Year 2023; recognising the transformative impact of our platform and the value it brings to the industry. These achievements underline LITE'S leadership and expertise in leveraging technology for success in the digital age.
